Project Naloxone is an awareness campaign from the American Association for Mental Illness which aims to inform, educate, and make known where Naloxone can be acquired.
Naloxone is a drug used to reverse the effects of opioids during and overdose. Most commonly naloxone is sold under the brand name Narcan among many others. Narcan is naloxone in the form of a nasal spray which makes it much easier to administer compared to the intravenous version. Narcan is available at most drug stores if asked for from the pharmacist.

Below is a video that explains the steps on how to administer from HealthVermont. These steps should be followed only after you have determined that the person is experiencing an overdose. If you were to administer Naloxone to someone who was not having an overdose no negative effects would occur.
