If You Are Interested In ​Starting a Chapter Please Follow the following Instructions.

Being the leader or member of a chapter in your area requires availability to attend events that will happen on weekends, and a dedication to mental health research and awareness.

Hosting

Most often our events include a small table set up on college campuses where we hand out small gifts fee of charge and ask for donations.  

Other Chapters

If two chapter in similar areas would like to plan or attend and event together, it is encouraged. Please first make sure to clear this with our event coordination first.

Help Bring Funding Towards Mental Health Research 

Donations received that go towards mental health research are most often sent to Universities research programs (ex. Upenn anxiety research; Yale OCD Research) as well as funding Psychology Programs for Universities in the New England Area. 

Help Spread Mental Health Awareness 

Much of the funding used for mental health awareness goes to the creation of new products that endorse removing stigmatization. 

Requirements

- This is a volunteer position 
​ 
- Please be at least 15 years of age 

- Leaders can be 15 but we prefer they are at least 16

- If you intend to enroll in a previously established chapter please do not contact AAMI directly; please contact the chapter leader themselves

- If you intend to become a leader of a chapter please email our event coordination department to ensure there is not a previously established chapter in your area

- Able to post at least once per week on the chapter's social media page(s) 

- Acknowledgment that if any of these requirements are broken or are found to have been broken then chapter leader status may be revoked

If you become a leader or member of a chapter you will be allowed access to our event coordination and materials. AAMI will being willing to send a recommendation to ANY other organization you apply to attend or work at.
